ARTIST STATEMENT
As a self-taught photographer hailing from the vibrant city of Atlanta, Georgia, my journey behind the lens spans two decades. While my roots in photography run deep, my style is a unique fusion, crafted through years of absorbing the works of diverse artists and honing my skills in lighting and composition.
The human form is one of the most dynamic visuals a person can observe. No two bodies are exactly alike and no two people see a body exactly the same. Every image is a unique capture at that point in time never to be repeated again. The laws of nature rely on some sort of balance and I use my tools to balance light and dark. Some might say you can't see in the dark, but I challenge that. The dark can be whatever you want it to be. I view it as the viewers portion of the image. I believe that the right amount of light will get you to a fork in the road visually and in the darkness you choose your own path.
Contemplating the human form unveils a labyrinth of enigma. Each silhouette is an ephemeral masterpiece, a singular embodiment frozen in time, perpetually elusive. Nature’s equilibrium hinges on the delicate interplay of light and shadow, a balance I seek to orchestrate with my craft. While some argue vision falters in darkness, I defy convention. Darkness, to me, is the canvas of interpretation, where each beholder navigates their own narrative. In the twilight between light and obscurity lies the juncture of revelation, where one is compelled to chart their own course through the depths of perception.
